Back again and still alive!

new species found – Grampus griseus laszlous

Now being back from SL expeditions, have a look what I found

14 minutes 17 seconds in a different world

May 1, 2009

Are you prepared to listen and view?
15 minutes of your time, are you sure you want to invest?
You need to do it step by step.

OK – the entertainment starts – the warm up

were you brave enough for the clip until the end?
Let’s add a bid of drama

and now, what’s next?
I am afraid you are now facing the toughest part.
You are left with your own imagination for the last 6 minutes and 32 seconds.
Could it be as difficult as climbing on a mountain or running a marathon?
Are you surviving the first minute?
Is it still a black screen?
Don’t give up, look out for your clip…

Finished?

I am so curious how your last ‘clip’ looked like, but I am sure I will never know, and it will be never available on youtube…
I am left with my own one, and if I do it again it always will be a different one than my previous…

Hazlo at the Cebit

March 15, 2009

What a nice idea – I got the other week an invitation from my RL avatar to visit the Cebit 2009 at Hannover. He mentioned that this would be interesting for me.
I couldn’t really understand when he was talking about virtual worlds and all this stuff. He is always so excited about new technology.
What we saw first was some virtualization of cloud computing.

To be honest I was a bit disapointed. This reminds me somehow when runing particle scripts in SL.
Then we had a walk around the fair ground. TP and flight modus was obviously disabled :(
And they need to practice a bit more when rezzing buildings – the sim was obviously a sandox for newbies :)

But I found at least some very simple builds, one prim, where I must admit that the texture looks quite realistic.

So need to expand the visits to RL world – I expect some more fun with it.
What I will not understand are all the talks about avatars forgetting SL about this RL. Don’t believe that I could become addicted of that world so far. I need to explore more of it.
Except that there is one thing which impressed me most: no lag despite the fact that there were hundreds, thousands of avatars at Hannover. I am wondering what server capacity is in the background….

What is the aquivalent to real live running in a virtual world?
How does Hazlo get the very specific void you may have experienced?
Is it SIM-hopping?
No – not a serious alternative.
I am not sure if Hazlo ever will find out….

Diving for Sushi

How many questions do I need to ask you until I know you?

What do I need to ask you to find out who you are?

How many questions do you need to answer me until I know you?

Do I know you much better if I get no answer for my question?

Club experience tonight

December 7, 2008

It was quite different from downtempo
just the right thing for the evening.
The final question is, are we human or are we denser… :)

ねじまき鳥クロニクル – Murakami’s well and the Wind-Up Bird

November 30, 2008

Reading Murakami in RL, Hazlo should at least have in SL the experience in sitting like Toru in the half-dark on the ground of the well.

And it appears as if there is some sound in the background ….

What is next after dark?  :)

Jemo – virtually miles away

November 30, 2008

Jemo – that was an unrealizable task to meet you yesterday.  Was it bad luck or terrible lag? I remember lag as the term used to refer to delays noticeable to the user ….and it was noticable.
The TP failing in the virtual world :(   -  I wish you were here
